Guemes Island Wedding with Petra and Kyle

Petra and Kyle had the perfect San Juan Islands wedding! They rented out Guemes Island Resort, and for my first time ever in the San Juans I was not disappointed. I loved everything about it, from the small farm community atmosphere to the incredible views of the Canada and the Cascade Mountains. Once I pulled up to Guemes Island Resort I was blown away again! This was the ideal spot for an intimate wedding filled with family, friends, beer, dancing, bon fires, and sparklers. I can't wait to go back, but next time I'm taking some time off to just hang out at the resort!

River Roast, Chicago Wedding with Mary Pat and Calen

The best weddings are the ones filled with love and tons of laughter! I don't think Mary Pat and Calen stopped smiling all day. What I do know is how happy I am to share their gallery with everyone. I was thrilled when Mary Pat and Calen asked me to photograph their wedding. First I flew out to Colorado for their absolutely incredible engagement session, then they brought me back to Chicago to capture their wedding day. As much as I love the mountains, I'm equally obsessed with city views and architecture.

We did get one huge surprise when we arrived at the reception. It turns out it was the season opening of the Chicago Riverwalk! To celebrate Chicago rigged the bridges immediately surrounding River Roast with fireworks! Of course we grabbed some photos before the reception kicked off, just check it out below!

A special thank you to Emmalee Luckas for being such an amazing second shooter!

City Winery in Chicago with Jean and Brian

It's hard to start a blog post without saying this, I love the couples I work with! Jean and Brian are the sweetest, but one of the best parts about them(and I know they would agree!) is their ridiculous dog Baxter. He's such a lovable one eyed beagle. But seriously if you want to to obsess about how great your wedding is, just be sure to have your dog hang out with us on your wedding day.

Besides Baxter, Jean and Brian had a gorgeous ceremony and reception at City Winery back in Chicago and I can't thank them enough for bringing me out to the midwest to share in their celebration!

San Francisco Engagement with Emily and Jon

How can you say no when you get a call to travel to San Francisco to shoot one crazy adventure filled engagement session! Well after talking over locations with Emily and Jon, we decided to go all out! We started with a sunrise shoot right at Sutro Baths, with a walk over to Lands End. We then met back up to head over to Marshall's Beach for sunset. This was not only one of my favorite engagement sessions ever, it was also the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever had for a photoshoot!

That's not all, check out the bottom of the post for a surprise ending!

After the engagement session I was also able to go out to Golden Gate National Recreation Area to grab some landscapes.

There I was on the side of the road taking cityscapes of downtown San Francisco. A couple had spotted my camera equipment and they end up starting a conversation. It turns out they had just got married at city hall earlier that day! They asked if I could take a photo of the two of them, and we ended up with this beautiful portrait of them silhouetted against the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Fran Skyline!
