Derek and Kyler's Orcas Island Wedding

That's right, I was on Orcas Island for 2 weddings this year! This place is a goldmine for photos, every inch of forest and coastline has so many possibilities! But that's enough about my love of landscapes and scenery, there's more important things to talk about. Like Derek and Kyler, they have some of the best friends and family that I've ever come across while photographing a wedding. I am not exaggerating, out of the 150 ish (who even knows how many weddings I've photographed), their wedding had hands down the most beautiful and thoughtful toast I have ever heard. I think that's a testament to how much love Derek and Kyler have for each other but also how they have impacted the lives of the people around them.

Thank you both for inviting me to be a part of your day! Also, thank you to everyone who helped bring their day together and Bayside Cottages for hosting.

Hoh Rainforest Elopement - Joy and Crystal

Joy and Crystal flew all the way out to the Seattle just to road trip around the Pacific Northwest and do an elopement style portrait session along the way! When they were telling me about their trip and how excited they were to explore I immediately started coming up with portrait locations. In the end we decided that one location just wasn't going to do. So we started things off with sunrise in the Hoh Rainforest to capture the sun coming through the old growth. Then sunset at Ruby Beach on the Washington coast to grab some of that dramatic light. It made for a long day but I got in an incredible nap on the beach in between so I can't complain!
