River Roast, Chicago Wedding with Mary Pat and Calen

The best weddings are the ones filled with love and tons of laughter! I don't think Mary Pat and Calen stopped smiling all day. What I do know is how happy I am to share their gallery with everyone. I was thrilled when Mary Pat and Calen asked me to photograph their wedding. First I flew out to Colorado for their absolutely incredible engagement session, then they brought me back to Chicago to capture their wedding day. As much as I love the mountains, I'm equally obsessed with city views and architecture.

We did get one huge surprise when we arrived at the reception. It turns out it was the season opening of the Chicago Riverwalk! To celebrate Chicago rigged the bridges immediately surrounding River Roast with fireworks! Of course we grabbed some photos before the reception kicked off, just check it out below!

A special thank you to Emmalee Luckas for being such an amazing second shooter!

Classic Milwaukee Wedding with Jessica and Trevor

There's just too much to say about Jessica and Trevor, and yeah I might be a little biased since she's my sister-in-law but who cares about that. The important thing here is that these are two of my favorite people, and they are absolutely perfect for each other.

I was thrilled to be a part of their wedding, especially because the talented Emmalee Luckas was coming up from Chicago to second shoot for me. She actually took over shooting during the reception, just so I could sit back and enjoy myself with the family.

San Francisco Engagement with Emily and Jon

How can you say no when you get a call to travel to San Francisco to shoot one crazy adventure filled engagement session! Well after talking over locations with Emily and Jon, we decided to go all out! We started with a sunrise shoot right at Sutro Baths, with a walk over to Lands End. We then met back up to head over to Marshall's Beach for sunset. This was not only one of my favorite engagement sessions ever, it was also the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever had for a photoshoot!

That's not all, check out the bottom of the post for a surprise ending!

After the engagement session I was also able to go out to Golden Gate National Recreation Area to grab some landscapes.

There I was on the side of the road taking cityscapes of downtown San Francisco. A couple had spotted my camera equipment and they end up starting a conversation. It turns out they had just got married at city hall earlier that day! They asked if I could take a photo of the two of them, and we ended up with this beautiful portrait of them silhouetted against the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Fran Skyline!

Destination - Key West, FL with Lauren and Phil

I can't believe that my first 7 photoshoots this year were all travel and destination weddings! Literally from British Columbia to Mexico and almost everything in between. Lauren and Phil's wedding is one of my all time favorites! They brought me out to Key West, Florida for one gorgeous weekend filled with exploring, adventures, alligators, swamps and of course one hell of a wedding. It may have been 90 degrees out, but we didn't let that stop us from getting some incredible portraits throughout Key West.

Whenever I'm traveling for weddings I always try and do something fun to check out the local scenery. For Lauren and Phil's wedding I wanted to finally see Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve but I only had a short window of time to make it happen. So after I wrapped up their wedding I got about 2 hours of sleep and woke up at 2:30am and drove straight to the Everglades to catch sunrise. After that craziness I went out to Big Cypress to hike through some swamp land and find some alligators to photograph. See the end of the blog post to check out the photos!
