Sarah and Clint's Larrabee State Park Engagement

Larrabee State Park isn't just any old park to Clint and Sarah. It's where Clint spent all his free time climbing on boulders and hiking around the Puget Sound. Of course when it came to their engagement session it was the only location to choose, and it was absolutely perfect! Like every fall engagement we had to dodge some bad weather, but it all worked out in the end. We had a gorgeous Pacific Northwest day, and we even had the start of fall colors on the bigleaf maples that are all over Larrabee.

Clint and Sarah's wedding is coming up in January and I can't wait! These two were so much fun to photograph, and I know there wedding will be incredible.

Jess and Steven's Seattle Engagement

This isn't Jessica and Steven's first engagement shoot, this is actually their second! For their first shoot, we snowshoed around Steven's pass at sunrise. Of course, it was absolutely gorgeous, but also absolutely freezing! For their second engagement session, we decided on something much warmer and and much closer to home. We choose Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, it's a beautiful park and it happens to be their favorite place to let their dog Bailey run around.

Anisa and Marc's Engagement - Maple Pass, North Cascades

This is by far the most adventurous engagement session I've ever been a part of! Anisa and Marc said they were up for anything anywhere! So we found this 8 mile hike with 2,000ft of elevation gain to some insanely gorgeous mountain views up in North Cascades National Park. (If you're so inclined check out WTA for hike details, Heather - Maple Pass Loop) This is now one of my favorite fall hikes of all time, but this wasn't enough for us! At the last minute I found out that The Milky Way happened to be out in full force later in the evening, and Marc and Anisa thought that was the best idea ever. So we met up in downtown Seattle to carpool up to the North Cascades. We then hiked 4 miles up to the summit, did 90% of their engagement session and then ate some delicious snack food while we waited for the Milky Way to rise. After we got this perfect photo we hiked 4 miles back to the car at night and we didn't get back to Seattle until around 4:00am!

Just a disclaimer, not every engagement session is this intense. But if you are interested in wandering through the backcountry to capture some portraits, just say the word! I'm always up for it!
