Diablo Lake Engagement with Zoe and Jack

Out here in the Pacific Northwest there are so many gorgeous portrait locations. (It's seriously hard to choose!) One of the easiest and most accessible mountain views is from the Diablo Lake Overlook in North Cascades National Park. Of course it's a big commute, almost 4 hours each way, but it is seriously worth it!

Usually the couples I work with love a bit of adventure for their engagement shoot. Zoe and Jack were all for taking the day off of work and they didn't even mind getting back to Seattle well after midnight. Because that's the thing with these engagement shoots. When the goal is to shoot at sunset in the mountains we could easily be out there until 9:00 or 10:00pm with the long commute back to town. Luckily for them, their starry night photo is actually a composite so they got to leave early while I stuck around to photograph the stars.

Classic Milwaukee Wedding with Jessica and Trevor

There's just too much to say about Jessica and Trevor, and yeah I might be a little biased since she's my sister-in-law but who cares about that. The important thing here is that these are two of my favorite people, and they are absolutely perfect for each other.

I was thrilled to be a part of their wedding, especially because the talented Emmalee Luckas was coming up from Chicago to second shoot for me. She actually took over shooting during the reception, just so I could sit back and enjoy myself with the family.

Big Four Ice Caves Engagement with Maneesha and Sri

As soon as Manessha emailed me from Ohio about an engagement session in the Pacific Northwest I knew it had to be an epic location. It's not everyday that someone travels over 2,000 miles to take photos. After hearing about what they wanted I knew we had to go out to the Big Four Ice Caves! I had just been out there for the first time and I knew this easy hike blew me away. I had no idea that something so unique and so gorgeous could exist with only a few mile hike.

Just a warning: it is extremely dangerous to adventure inside of the ice caves. They are known to collapse at any time and without warning. Several people have died while breaking the rules and wandering inside these caves. At no point in the photoshoot did we go inside the actual caves.
